Born in 1966, in Brazil, he moved to Portugal in the 1980s, where he attended, as a scholarship holder, the Jazz School of the Hot Clube de Portugal, in Lisbon. Since then, he has collaborated with several names of Portuguese music. Rui Veloso, Pilar Homem de Melo, Dulce Pontes, Sérgio Godinho, José Mário Branco, Maria João and Mário Laginha. In the foreign frame he collaborated with Wayne Shorter, Paulo Moura, Cliff Korman, Rick Lathan, John Stubblefield, Frank Colon, Manu Katche, Luiz Avelar, Ivan Lins, among many others.
He is currently part of the Jan Garbarek Group with, Jan Garbarek, Trilok Gurtu, Rainer Brueninghaus.
My classes focus is the student and not the method. Teacher and student have a shared responsibility to create a specific method for the student, where he can enhance the student’s full potential without formatting it, seeking his own voice, his own originality.
Harmony, Rhythm, and Melody the bass is an instrument that is capable of reproducing, all at the same time, solo, let’s explore this, more always with a look at the functionality of the instrument, which is the basis of the music.
